Tour in the Minervois
Land of wine, vineyards…and people

Travel from your lodgings to the village of Rieux Minervois.
Our first stop is to visit the XII century church with its unique inner circular spire designed with seven sides. Amongst the many treasures of the church are the sculptures by the mysterious and famous sculptor, the ‘Master of Cabestany’.
Locally born Tour Guide, Colette will share her inexhaustible knowledge and passion for this beautiful building, with a presentation that you will never forget!
After the church we visit wine makers of the Minervois. In Rieux we are welcomed like family into the home of Jean-Marc, and in Laure Minervois the wine maker Jean-Louis will intrigue you with his love and knowledge for wine making.
After tasting the local wine we now delight in lunch at the winery where local food and wine complement one another perfectly.
The next destination is within the dry marshlands of Marseillette. We first make a stop at a particular loch on the Canal du Midi, inhabited by strange characters made of wood and iron ! Most are visible by the side of the canal while some may take you time to find as they are living within the trees. It is a magic place and we visit the amusing, artistic and very unique loch keeper, Joel.
We continue our journey with a visit to the famous Japanese Koi fish breeding farms and learn about the Japanese ornament fish (Koi carp)
Our tour ends amongst the rice fields and orchards with a visit to the apple grower, Philippe whose knowledge about local wildlife is impressive and whose delicious apple juice is a wonderful way to end the day!

Adult: 35 € - departure at a minimum of 10 people
1st child : from 6 to12 years old: 12€
2nd child or more : 10 €
Less than 6 years old : free
